What to Do When the App Won’t Connect to Your ScooterUpdated 9 days ago
If your Apollo scooter isn’t connecting to the Apollo app, don’t worry — it’s usually a Bluetooth or pairing issue that can be resolved in just a few minutes. This guide will help you identify why the connection isn’t working and how to get your scooter reconnected.
Step 1: Check if the App Detects Your Scooter
When you open the Apollo app and attempt to connect, the app scans for nearby scooters through Bluetooth.
- If the app doesn’t see your scooter:
- Make sure Bluetooth is turned on and your scooter is powered on.
- Move your phone closer to the scooter (within 1 meter).
- Close and reopen the Apollo app, then try scanning again.
- If your phone can’t detect the scooter after multiple tries, continue to Step 3.
Step 2: If the App Asks for a PIN
If your scooter appears in the app but you’re asked for a PIN:
If you’ve used the app before:
Enter your existing PIN to reconnect. If you purchased the scooter second-hand:
You’ll need the original PIN from the previous owner. If they don’t remember it, you can use the Reset PIN option in the app to generate a new one. The reset process is fully automated and doesn’t require support intervention.
Step 3: Reset the Bluetooth Module
If the app can’t find your scooter, or if you recently replaced the display or handlebar assembly, it’s possible the Bluetooth profile changed. This means the scooter’s internal Bluetooth UUID no longer matches what’s saved in your app.
Here’s how to fix it:
- Open the Apollo app and remove your scooter from your account.
- Turn off your scooter.
- Disconnect the display or handlebar assembly for a few minutes to allow the Bluetooth module to reset.
- Reconnect the assembly and power the scooter back on.
- Open the Apollo app and scan for scooters again — it should now appear as a new device.
Step 4: Reconnect and Verify
Once your scooter reappears:
- Select it in the app.
- Enter your PIN (or create a new one if you just reset it).
- Wait for the confirmation message showing a successful connection.
