Phantom 2.0: Loose FenderUpdated 8 days ago

Overview

This article explains why a odd noise can come from the front or rear wheel of a Phantom 2.0 and how to inspect and fix it when the cause is loose fender screws that have cracked the fender.

Problem Description

You hear a persistent or intermittent rattling, or clicking noise coming from the front or rear wheel area of your Phantom 2.0 during riding.

Symptoms

  • Rattling or clicking that changes with wheel rotation speed
  • Noise present even at low throttle or ground roll

Common Causes

  • Loose fender screws — screws backing out allow parts to shift and contact moving components.
  • Cracked fender — a loose screw can cause repeated movement and eventually crack the fender, which may contact the wheel or suspension and create noise.

Solutions

  1. Inspect and Tighten Fender Screws (Quick fix)
  2. Replace Cracked Fender (Recommended if damage exists)

Prevention Tips

  • Use threadlocker (blue, medium strength) on fender screws if they have a tendency to loosen — apply sparingly
  • Replace plastic fenders at the first sign of cracking to prevent debris contact or further damage.
