My Scooter’s Screen Looks ScratchedUpdated 9 days ago

If you’ve just unboxed your new Apollo scooter and noticed that the screen appears scratched or scuffed, don’t worry — this is completely normal. What may look like scratches are actually marks on a protective film applied to the display during manufacturing to prevent damage during shipping.

Why It Looks Scratched

There are two reasons it might look like your display itself is scratched:

  • Precisely cut film: The protective layer is cut to fit the screen perfectly, making it look like part of the display. This can make it easy to mistake the film for the actual screen surface.
  • Two layers of film: Some units come with two layers of protective plastic. The first layer (often with a tab or bubble) is easy to spot, but a second transparent layer may remain even after you peel off the first.

How to Fix It

To restore your screen’s clean, glossy look:

  1. Inspect the display closely under good lighting. Look at the edges of the screen for a fine outline — this indicates the protective film is still on.
  2. Peel off the film carefully using your fingernail or a piece of tape to lift the edge.
  3. Remove both layers if present. If the screen still appears dull or marked after removing the first layer, check for a second film and peel that too.
  4. Avoid using tools or sharp objects that might damage the actual display.

Once all protective layers are removed, your scooter’s display will look smooth and scratch-free.
