What to Do If You Smell Burning Wires from Your Scooter

Overview

If you notice the smell of burning wires coming from your scooter, it's important to act quickly to ensure your safety and prevent further damage. This article guides you step-by-step on how to respond, document the issue, and inspect your scooter before resuming use.

Immediate Actions to Take

  1. Stop Riding Immediately
    1. As soon as you smell burning wires, safely stop riding your scooter and power it off.
  2. Open the Deck
    1. Carefully open the scooter's deck to access the internal components.
  3. Take Photos for Customer Experience (CX) Support
    1. Use your phone or camera to take clear photos of the inside of the deck, especially any areas that appear damaged or burnt.

💡 Tip: Taking multiple angles and close-up shots can help the support team diagnose the issue faster.

Inspect the Battery Connectors

  1. Check All Battery Connectors
    1. Look for signs of burning, melting, discoloration, or loose wires on the battery connectors.
  2.  Do Not Attempt Repairs Yourself
    1. Only inspect and document the issue; do not attempt to fix or reconnect any wires unless instructed by support.

⚠️ Note: Do not resume riding your scooter until the issue has been fully resolved and you have received confirmation from support.

Resume Use Only After Resolution

  1. Submit Photos and Findings to Customer Experience (CX)
    1. Send the photos and a description of what you found to the customer support team.
  2. Wait for Confirmation
    1. Only resume riding your scooter after the issue has been addressed and you have been advised it is safe to do so.
