Hot/Warm Phantom 2.0 Light BoxUpdated 14 minutes ago

Overview

This article explains why your Phantom 2.0 light box may feel hot or warm during use and what the expected behavior is.

What is the expected temperature of the Phantom 2.0 light box?

The Phantom 2.0 light box is designed to operate at elevated surface temperatures. It is normal for the unit to reach or exceed 47°C (116°F) during operation. This temperature is within the expected range for the device.

Cause of enclosure deformation

Any visible deformation or slight warping of the enclosure is caused by the molding process used during manufacturing, not by heat generated during normal operation. Molding tolerances can produce minor variations in shape that may look like warping but do not indicate overheating or a safety issue.

Important Notes

  • Do not assume high surface temperature indicates a malfunction — temperatures around or above 47°C (116°F) are expected.
  • Inspect for damage — if you notice cracks, sharp edges, melting, burning smells, smoke, or any electrical faults, stop using the device immediately and contact support.
  • If there's any melting to the plastic enclosure, replace the light box.
