Apollo Go: Hook Magnet Falling OffUpdated a month ago
What is the recommended solution for a detached magnet?
The most viable and easiest fix for customers who have had the magnet on their hook fall off is to reattach it using sandpaper and epoxy.
⚠️ This issue most commonly reported with earlier batch of the Apollo Go. Has been resolved in the latest iteration.
What materials do I need?
- Small piece of sandpaper
- Strong epoxy adhesive (recommended: Gorilla Glue Epoxy)
- The detached magnet and hook
What are the steps to fix the magnet?
- Rough up the surface of the hole where the magnet sits using sandpaper
- Apply strong epoxy to the prepared surface
- Place the magnet back into position
- Allow the epoxy to fully cure according to product instructions
Why does this method work?
- Roughing up the surface of the hole allows for better adhesive bonding to the metal
- Using a strong epoxy like Gorilla Glue creates an extremely strong bond
Where can I get the recommended epoxy?
The recommended epoxy can be purchased here: Gorilla Epoxy on Amazon
