Step-by-step: How to swap the stemUpdated 6 days ago

Stem Replacement

Replacing the stem on your scooter is straightforward with the right tools and a bit of patience. Below are model-specific video guides, followed by a general overview of the process.

Model-Specific Stem Replacement Guides

General Stem Replacement Steps

  1. Remove the handlebar assembly.
Begin by detaching the handlebar assembly to expose the upper stem components. Disconnect the brakes from the levers and connecting cables

  2. Loosen the lower stem bolts.
Locate the bolts at the base of the stem and loosen them to release tension.

  3. Remove the main retaining nut.
This nut connects the lower stem to the suspension assembly. Removing it allows the stem to separate from the scooter’s front end.

  4. Free the stem from the lower assembly.
If the stem is difficult to remove, insert a flat-head screwdriver into the relief slit in the lower stem. Gently and carefully twist/ply to widen the opening and ease the stem out.

Tools Required

  • Allen key set

  • Adjustable wrench

  • Flat-head screwdriver

These basic tools will cover all steps of the replacement process across most Apollo scooter models.
