Security Features on Apollo ScootersUpdated 3 hours ago

Apollo scooters include built-in security tools designed to help protect your ride when parked and help you locate it if it goes missing. Depending on the model, that can include electronic locking through Park "P" Mode, NFC tap-to-unlock, and Apple Find My integration.

We strongly advise using a physical lock to secure the scooter whenever possible, as electronic features alone are not a complete theft prevention solution.

Park "P" Mode (Electronic Lock)

Park "P" Mode electronically locks the scooter so the motors are immobilized when you are not riding. This feature is available on all Apollo scooter models except legacy models, and it can be turned on through the Apollo app or, on some scooters, by pressing the power button five times.

This is a convenient first layer of theft deterrence because it adds software-based locking without requiring a physical lock every time you stop. Use P Mode whenever you park in public or leave the scooter unattended for a short time.

NFC Unlocking

Selected Apollo scooters support NFC, which lets you unlock the scooter with a tap instead of opening the app every time. Apollo's Phantom 2.0 product pages specifically list NFC connectivity and tap-to-unlock as a feature.

NFC is useful for quick access while still keeping the scooter locked when you are away from it. If your model includes an NFC card, you can use either the app or the NFC card to exit Park mode.

Apple Find My Tracking

Selected Apollo scooters support Apple Find My, which helps you track your scooter using Apple's Find My network. This is a live location feature available on select models, including the Phantom 2.0, and depends on nearby Apple devices in the Find My network.

Apple explains that Find My can help you locate a lost device or item on a map, mark it as lost, and use the Find My network's encrypted, anonymous crowd-sourced signals to help find items even when they are offline. For Apple's official documentation, see: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/104978.

Best Practices

  • Always use Park "P" Mode when stopping your ride.
  • We strongly advise using a physical lock to secure the scooter whenever parked, especially overnight or in high-risk areas.
  • If your model supports NFC, keep the NFC card with you for quick access.
  • Set up Apple Find My immediately if available on your scooter.

Model Compatibility

These features are not identical across the entire Apollo lineup. Park "P" Mode is broadly available on current models, while NFC and Apple Find My are reserved for select scooters such as the Phantom 2.0.
