Step-by-step guide to removing each major component from the Apollo Explore 2.0.


1. Headset & Brake Line

  • Start: 0:33

  • Loosen the brake at the bottom to allow the removal of the brake line at the top.

  • Remove the brake cable from the handle.

  • Remove two screws holding the headset.

  • Unplug connectors for the headlight and the communication cable to fully detach the headset.


2. Display (Only, not entire headset)

  • Start: 3:08

  • Flip the headset, remove four screws on the panel.

  • Lift the panel to access the display inside.

  • Cut shrink wrap and disconnect the old display.

  • Replace with a new display, secure with four internal screws.


3. Headlight

  • Start: 6:01

  • Use a smaller Allen key to remove the screw that holds the headlight in place.

  • Pull the headlight out from the opening in the back.


4. Turning Signal & Grip Handle

  • Start: 7:03

  • Locate and remove the screw under the turning signal.

  • Disconnect the quick connector for the turning signal (no need to access headset internals).

  • To remove the grip handle (or replace throttle/brake handle): Remove the turning signal, disconnect, and remove another screw to slide the grip handle out.


5. Stem Light

  • Start: 9:50

  • Fold the scooter stem.

  • Locate the plastic support under the stem light; push it out using a screwdriver to release the stem light.

  • To reinstall, slide the light and the supporting tab back into place.


6. Removing Entire Stem

  • Start: 14:07

  • Loosen two screws and remove the main bolt at the base.

  • Find and remove a washer and a locking nut (use a large flathead screwdriver or pliers as needed).

  • Once fasteners are removed, the stem can be pulled free for deeper servicing or replacement.


7. Bearings/Direction Assembly

  • Start: 17:53

  • Use a wrench or grip tool to loosen the bearing locknut.

  • Remove spacers and bearings as needed for replacement or cleaning.

  • Note details about alignment and bearing spacers.


8. Swing Arm & Front Suspension

  • Start: 21:09

  • Remove screws holding plastic swing arm covers.

  • Use a Phillips and Allen key to unclip these covers (gives access to suspension and wheel nuts).

  • To remove/replace spring suspension: Remove lower nut and slide the suspension, noting the washer and fixation.


9. Battery Compartment & Controller

  • Flip the scooter and unscrew ten screws under the deck to loosen the compartment cover.

  • Entire battery/controller compartment will come off as a sealed box, revealing battery, controller, and wiring.

  • Remove four screws securing the battery for battery service.


10. Underbody Lights

  • Start: 39:24

  • To replace underbody lights, simply remove two screws from the side (no need to open the entire enclosure).


11. Rear Fender and Motor Connections

  • Start: 46:41

  • For fender: Disconnect quick connector near the rear using zip ties as needed to secure cables away from the suspension.

  • To remove motor: Undo the rear covers and disconnect the motor wiring from inside the battery compartment.


12. General Reassembly Tips

  • When reassembling, make sure all bearings/spacers are aligned and fasteners properly torqued.

  • Always test cable routing and connections before finishing reassembly.
