📦 Apollo Pro Unboxing and Setup Guide

Setting up your new Apollo Pro electric scooter correctly is the most important step for your safety. This guide provides a comprehensive walk-through of the unboxing and initial assembly process.

Unboxing

Before starting the setup process, it's recommended to have the following items ready:

  • Box cutters or knife

  • Stool or bench

  • Air pump

  • Someone to help

Contents of the Box

Use a box cutter to open the box. Inside the protective styrofoam, you should find the following contents:

  • Apollo Pro electric scooter

  • Manual

  • Charger and cable

  • Hex key

  • Screw Kit

If any of these items are missing, contact the support team immediately.

With help from another person, carefully remove the scooter from the box and place it on a flat surface, ideally a stool or bench so the wheels can spin freely. Remove and set aside the protective material. Keep both the styrofoam and the box in case you need to ship the scooter back; otherwise, recycle the materials.

🛠️ Assembly: Unfolding and Attaching the Handlebar

Unfolding the Scooter

  1. Unfold the Stem: Pull the stem upwards until it is in a completely vertical position.

  2. Lock the Stem: Locate the folding latch and bring it up to lock the stem. This will require some force to lock fully upright.

  3. Secure the Safety Mechanism: Make sure the safety button of the folding mechanism is clipped into the stem. This mechanism prevents the latch from unlocking due to vibration or shock.

⚠️ WARNING: Always follow these instructions before each ride. Failure to ensure the safety button is clipped and the stem is fully secured could lead to the stem coming undone while riding, resulting in loss of control, serious injury, or death. Do not operate the scooter if you notice anything wrong with the stem, safety button, or locking mechanism.

Attaching the Handlebar

  1. Connect Cables: Connect the male cable coming from the handlebar into the female cable coming out of the front stem. Ensure the pins and ports are properly aligned.

  2. Insert Handlebar: Insert the handlebar at the top of the front stem.

  3. Tighten Screws: Tighten the handlebar into place with the 4 hex screws provided.

    • Caution: Be careful not to damage the cable when connecting the handlebar.

  4. Adjust and Finalize: The latches and buttons on your handlebar will be loose to avoid damage during shipping.

    • Adjust the left button panel (e-brake throttle, mode button, left signal) by twisting it upward or downward until it reaches a comfortable angle.

    • Once a comfortable position is found, tighten its screws.

    • Repeat the same process for the screws on the right side (accelerator throttle, power button, right signal).

⚙️ Performing the Initial Test

After assembly, perform this test to ensure your scooter is functioning correctly. Keep the scooter elevated on a stool or bench for the parts of the test that involve spinning the wheels.

  1. Power On and Motor Test:

    • Locate the power button on the right side of the handlebar and press it for 3 seconds to power on the scooter and display.

    • Since the scooter should be in Kick to Start mode, spin a wheel manually and then press the throttle on the right side. The wheels should begin to spin normally.

    • (Note: A slight noise at low speeds is normal as the motor communicates with the controller).

⚠️ WARNING: If one of the motors is not spinning, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE SCOOTER. Contact support immediately.

  1. Brake Test:

    • Accelerate the wheels using the throttle for about 5 seconds.

    • Release the throttle and slam both brakes (using the brake levers) at the same time. The wheels should stop immediately.

  2. Gear Change Test:

    • Press the Power Button quickly twice (two short clicks) to cycle through the speed levels: Eco mode, Comfort mode, and Sport mode.

    • Press the Power Button quickly three times to enter Ludo mode.

  3. Lights Test:

    • Press the Power Button quickly once to turn on the lights.

    • Confirm that all lights power on: the headlight and one rear tail light.

⚠️ WARNING: If all of the lights do not power on, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OPERATE THE SCOOTER. Contact support immediately.

  1. Horn Test:

    • Test the horn by pressing once on the Mode button (M) on the left side.

  2. Signal Lights Test:

    • Test the right signal by pressing the arrow button (>) on the right side of the handlebar. Click it again to turn it off.

    • Test the left signal by pressing the arrow button (<) on the left side of the handlebar. Click it again to turn it off.

  3. Tire Pressure Check:

    • Grab an air pump and locate the air valve on the front tire.

    • Remove the safety cap and attach the pump tube.

    • Read the PSI measure. The ideal tire pressure for the Pro is 35 PSI.

    • Inflate or deflate the tire as needed until the pressure is 35 PSI.

    • Repeat this step with the rear tire.

Congratulations! Your Apollo Pro is now set up and ready to ride. If you experience any difficulties, please refer to the manual or contact Our A-Team at [email protected].
