📦 Unboxing and Setup: Apollo Phantom V3-V4

Setting up your Apollo Phantom V3-V4 scooter correctly is the most crucial step for your safety and optimal performance. This guide will walk you through unboxing, unfolding, attaching the handlebar, setting up the command center, testing, and inflating the tires.

⚠️ Important Safety Warnings

  • Incorrect assembly, maintenance, or use of your Apollo scooter can cause component or performance failure, loss of control, serious injury, or death.

  • Read and understand the entire manual before riding, even if you are an experienced rider.

  • If you notice a malfunction or damage during setup or use, discontinue immediately, do not ride, and contact the Apollo support team.

  • If you're unsure you have the experience, skills, and tools to correctly perform all assembly steps, consult the support team or a local electric scooter shop.

Preparation for Setup

We recommend having the following items ready before starting the setup process:

  • Box cutters or knife

  • Stool or bench (to allow wheels to spin freely)

  • Air pump

  • Someone to help

Unbox Your Scooter

  1. Open the box using a box cutter and fold open the top.

  2. Inside, you'll find protective styrofoam and the following contents:

    • Apollo Phantom electric scooter

    • Manual

    • Charger and cable

    • Hex key

    • Screw Kit

  3. If any of these items are missing, contact Apollo immediately.

  4. With the help of someone, remove the scooter from the box and place it on a flat surface. A stool or bench is recommended so the wheels can spin freely.

  5. Carefully remove the protective material. Keep both the styrofoam and the box in case you need to ship your scooter back. Otherwise, recycle the materials.

Unfolding the Scooter

Always follow these instructions when unfolding your scooter and before each ride. Failure to secure the stem properly can lead to loss of control, serious injury, or death.

  1. Unhook the Stem: Ensure the hook on the stem is not clipped into the rear footrest. If it is, push down on the system and unhook it.

  2. Remove the Safety Pin: Locate the safety pin inserted into the folding mechanism and gently remove it. This allows the stem to be lifted.

  3. Unfold the Stem: Pull the stem to a completely vertical position.

  4. Fold the Latch: Fold the latch all the way up.

  5. Re-insert the Safety Pin: Place the safety pin back in the designated location, pushing it all the way in. This is an additional safety lock.

  6. Secure the Latch: Turn the safety ring to secure the latch in place, preventing it from unfolding.

Attach the Handlebar

  1. Remove the Light Screws: On the stem bar, remove the two screws holding the light fixture at the top using the provided hex key.

  2. Remove the Clamp Screws: Once the light fixture comes off, you will see four screws holding the handlebar clamp. Remove these four screws until the front half of the clamp comes off.

  3. Place the Handlebars: Place the handlebars inside the clamp. Hold the handlebars in position with one hand and place the front clamp half back on with the other.

  4. Initial Tightening: Put the screws back in place using the hex key. Start with the bottom left screw followed by the top right screw. This creates enough pressure to hold the handlebar while still allowing adjustment.

  5. Adjust Position: Rotate the handlebar until you find the most comfortable position.

  6. Final Tightening: Screw in the remaining two screws and tighten the clamp until all screws reach their maximum position.

Command Center (Brakes and Display) Setup

The display and brakes come loose and need adjustment.

  1. Adjust Left Brake: Rotate the left-hand side brake lever until it is in a comfortable position.

  2. Secure Left Brake: Find the screw in the rear of the brake lever and tighten it using the hex key.

  3. Adjust and Secure Right Brake: Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the right-hand side brake lever.

  4. Adjust and Secure Display: Move the display until it is in a comfortable position, then tighten the screws located on its rear.

Initial Scooter Testing

To ensure the scooter is working properly, perform a test above ground where the wheels are not touching any surface.

  1. Test Acceleration (Throttle): Push on the thumb throttle on the right side of the handlebar. The wheel should begin to spin. If it doesn't, contact support immediately.

  2. Test Brakes: Hold the throttle for 5 seconds, then release it and slam both brakes at the same time. The wheel should stop immediately.

Tire Pressure Check and Inflation

The ideal tire pressure for the Apollo Phantom is 50 PSI. Keeping the correct pressure is important for a better riding experience and to avoid getting a flat tire.

  1. Locate Air Valve: Find the air valve on the front tire, remove the safety cap, and attach the air pump tube.

  2. Check PSI: Turn on the air pump and read the current PSI measure.

  3. Inflate or Deflate:

    • If the pressure is below 50 PSI, inflate until the dial reads exactly 50 PSI.

    • If the pressure is higher than 50 PSI, deflate the tire by inserting a small object (like the hex key) into the air valve mechanism until air escapes, then re-inflate to 50 PSI.

  4. Repeat for Rear Tire: Put the cap back on the front air valve and repeat the process for the rear tire.

Operational Actions

  • Long press on the power button: Turn ON or OFF the scooter (must be completely still to turn OFF).

  • 1× quick power button: Gear change.

  • 2× quick power button: Headlight ON/OFF.

  • 3× quick power button: Switch between Ludo/non Ludo mode.

  • 4× quick power button: Cruise control ON/OFF.

  • 5× quick power button: Park mode ON/OFF.

  • Left signal light button: Turns ON left signal light.

  • Right signal light button: Turns ON right signal light.

  • 1× Mode button: Cycles through time, trip, ODO, Voltage, Remaining Km on the display.

Congratulations! Your Apollo Phantom V3-V4 is now set up and ready to ride. If you experience any difficulties, please refer to the manual or contact Our A-Team at [email protected].
